The Cougars big win over Arizona State on Thursday was as gratifying as their tough loss to USC a week ago was frustrating. Such, I guess, is the lot of a frosh-heavy roster.
Coincidentally, on Tuesday, future Cougar Anthony Brown of Spokane's Shadle Park High went off for 30 points and a great overall stat line in a big night that was reminiscent of the 8 of 10 three-pointers, 28 points, and all-around-great game Coug freshman Klay Thompson had on Thursday. I hope Anthony's performance is as predictive of his future as a Coug as was Klay's stellar performance in his high school championship game -- where he hit 7 three pointers on his way to 37 points.
Also by coincidence, former Coug star Kyle Weaver got his first start this week for the NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder (née Seattle SuperSonics). Earlier in the week his steal and characteristic beauty of an assist made the highlight reel.
