Over the years, I have occasionally held two administrative positions concurrently. For better or for worse, I'm at it again -- for the third (or is it the fourth?) time.
Today I was named the Vice Provost for Health Sciences at WSU. I have long-standing interests in the development of WSU's health science research and education assets, and have been engaged in their planning for years. In that sense, this is a natural for me. I look forward to the challenge and the many opportunities that will play out over the next few years -- it will be fun. I will continue to work with the same people I have over the past several years, but in a slightly different capacity. This includes Brian Pitcher, the Chancellor of WSU Spokane, who has held this position as his second job since 2007. Brian will continue to be heavily involved because much of the action that drives growth in health science programs over the next 5 years will happen on the Spokane campus; this is good because I really enjoy working with Brian (even if he does spell his name wrong).
Maybe I shouldn't have addled my brain by getting too much sun sitting in the spot shown in the previous post!
