Congratulations to Laura Baltodano, Class of 2013, who will be presented with the Anna E. Worth AAHA Student Leadership Award at the AAHA Annual Conference in March 2013. Laura is being recognized for outstanding student leadership through her service to the WSU Pet Loss Hotline and development of an AAHA Clinical Skills Training Program at WSU.

WSU CVM Leadership faculty hosted a gathering of 30 alumni from the widely acclaimed AVMA Veterinary Leadership Experience in Post Falls, Idaho last week to chart the future directions and growth of the AVMA VLE program.  Excitement abounds at the possibilities that exist for regionalization, new streams of funding, and the reality that the program can reach even more members of our veterinary profession.  The VLE curriculum is intended to equip veterinary caregivers with the confidence, skills and fortitude to overcome both innate and learned behavior barriers to a fulfilling personal and professional life and the practice of “best medicine”….every client, every patient, every time.
