Dr. Emily Cross from Nestlé Purina presents Dean Slinker, Dr Suzanne Kurtz and Dr. Rick DeBowes with a check for $150,000 as ongoing support of the Nestlé Purina Clinical Communication Professorship, currently occupied by Dr. Kurtz. This is the fourth installment of funding which has allowed WSU to establish a high impact, experiential educational program in clinical communication for veterinary students and house officers. The program equips and prepares students to be effective, accurate and complete veterinary communicators. Thanks to the support of Nestlé Purina and others, WSU's college of veterinary medicine holds a leadership position in the area of clinical communication.
