In the news again...

by Abbie 18. May 2009 11:21

So the WSU CVM is in the news again...this time for our outreach and recruitment of the Washington State FFA members who were on campus last week for their annual state convention.

(Special thanks to the Treadmill Team for running the demos!)

As a former national and state FFA officer myself, I have a soft-spot for these future agricultural leaders.  I also am well-aware that many of them have toyed with the idea of being a veterinarian...so this year the CVM offered a number of tours, workshops and of course, treadmill demo's for the FFA members.  Approximately 3500 students came to Pullman for the convention and about 200 made their way, at one point or another, to the CVM!

Meet DVM Ambassador - Molly

by Abbie 27. March 2009 12:55

Hi, my name is Molly and I am a second year vet student at Washington State University. My journey to become a vet started at a very young age. Growing up I was surrounded by lots of different animals ranging from pet rats, rabbits, dogs, cats, horses and cows. At a young age I realized that I loved animals and dreamt of one day becoming a veterinarian and helping animals. Although my dream is coming true… it has been a very rocky road and I have worked very hard to get where I am today. Becoming a veterinarian is not easy and it takes a lot of dedication and personal drive. More...

DVM@WSU registration closed

by Abbie 26. March 2009 07:42

I've received a few emails and phone calls over the past few days from prospective students who are having trouble registering for the DVM@WSU recruitment event.  The reason for that...registration is closed.  We have filled the event to capacity, so unfortunately if you didn't register early, you'll have to wait until next year or try to set up an individual visit at another time.

That being said, the annual CVM Open House on Saturday, April 4th from 10am-3pm, is a community event (no registration needed) and anyone and everyone is welcome to attend!  There will be lots to see & learn about, but there will not be any formal recruitment component to this event. http://www.vetmed.wsu.edu/announcements/openHouse2009/index.aspx

All notices are out!

by Abbie 2. March 2009 10:28

The last of the notification letters hit the mail last Friday...so Accept - Alternate - Deny, everyone who applied to WSU this cycle should have a tangible notice in their hands in the next few days (if not already!).

If you haven't received a letter by March 13th, please feel free to contact us and we will double-check things on our end.  Remember though - we cannot release status information over the phone!

Thanks so everyone who applied this year, it was a fantastic & extremely competitve pool!  If you were not successful this go-round, don't forget you can request a file review until May 15th.
